The Cleveland NAACP Criminal Justice Committee and Legal Redress Committee will host a community forum on August 11, 2014 at 6pm. The forum will be to update the community on the current criminal trial involving Cleveland police officers in the shooting deaths of Melissa Williams and Timothy Russell. The forum will also discuss the implications of proposed legislation for stop, question and frisk. The forum will take place at University Circle United Methodist Church. The church is located at 1919 E. 107 Cleveland, Ohio 44106.

Finally, the forum will provide information regarding upcoming dates and locations for NAACP quarterly trainings. The trainings will cover Civil Rights and Know Your Rights Workshops. These trainings will be useful for upcoming NAACP Court Watch initiatives as well as preparing citizens to handle encounters with police officers.
