CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Chapter of the NAACP officially has endorsed a proposal to phase in a citywide $15 minimum wage over a five-year period beginning Jan. 1.
In a resolution passed at the group’s general membership meeting Tuesday, the civil rights organization states that economic justice is a cornerstone of its mission and that the circumstances are particularly dire in Cleveland, which ranks last in median income for black households among 35 large U.S. cities.
