On Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 3-5:30pm, at Cleveland-Marshall School of Law Moot Courtroom, the NAACP Cleveland Chapter, CLE Committee, and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law will co-host Answering the Call, featuring Civil Rights Icon, Judge Nathaniel R. Jones, as guest speaker.

Judge Jones has practived law since 1957 and ran his own practice for 4 years. Since then he has served as Executive Director of the Fair Employment Practices Commission, Assistant US Attorney of the Northern District of Ohio, Assistant General Counsel to President Lyndon B. Johnson’s National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders (Kerner Commission), General Commission to National NAACP Executive Director Roy Wilkins.

In 1979 President Jimmy Carter nominated Judge Jones to the US Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit, where he served for 23 years before retiring in 2002. He is now Senior Counsel at Blank Rome LLP in Cincinnatti, Ohio.

Judge Jones has a record of academic service, including teaching at Harvard University, and involvement in civil and human rights in the US and around the world.

Judge Jones will be available for a book signing immediately following the event.
