The NAACP hosted the Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) competition on April 16th.  The winners will represent the Cleveland Branch in Cincinnati during the NAACP National Convention.

Application Information:

  • Open to African-American students grades 9th through 12th
  • Students can compete in up to 3 of the 26 categories.  
  • Deadline to submit ACT-SO application is April 13th.

Competition Information:

  • The local ACT-SO competition will be held on Saturday, April 16th, 2016 at Euclid High School (711 East 22nd Street, Euclid, OH 44123).  Contestants will be contacted upon receipt of application with scheduled competition times.
  • Judges will evaluate contestants on criteria established by the National NAACP office.
  • The local ACT-SO Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 16th, immediately following the competition.
  • All first place winners will receive an all expense paid trip to compete at the NAACO National Competition in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 14-17, 2016.
